My Utmost for His Highest is a devotional written by Oswald Chambers, a pastor who lived in England during the early 20th century. He had very little formal education, but he was a gifted writer who left behind a collection of books that continue to be popular today, nearly 100 years after he first published them.
My Utmost for His Highest was originally published in 1935 and contains 366 daily devotions written as though Jesus himself were speaking to you. In these devotionals, Jesus speaks of things like trials and hardships, faith and doubt, purity and temptation, poverty and wealth—all the ups and downs we encounter in life.
My Utmost for His Highest is intended to be used as you would use any other devotional: pick it up every day when you wake up, read the entry for that day before you start your day (or at any time during the day), then go about your day with God’s words in your heart. The book comes with a table of contents so you can easily find specific topics if you’re looking for something specific or need guidance on a certain topic.
