Alliant International University is a private, not-for-profit university located in San Diego, California. It is also a member of the Alliant International University System. The school offers bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees. The most popular majors are business administration, criminal justice, psychology and nursing.
Alliant was founded in 1983 by the California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP) and La Jolla Country Day School founder John Hamlin Jr.’s foundation as an extension campus for CSPP students who were unable to move from San Diego up north because of their work commitments at that time.
Cal State University, Los Angeles
Cal State University, Los Angeles is a large public university located in Los Angeles, California. It was founded in 1947, making it one of the newer schools on this list. The university has an acceptance rate of 61 percent and boasts an undergraduate acceptance rate of 61%.
Cal State San Bernadino
CSU San Bernardino is a large public university with a student body of over 23,000 students. The university is home to the San Bernardino Community College District, which includes the two colleges that were previously part of the CSU San Bernardino.
You can transfer from a community college into CSU San Bernardino by completing an Associate’s Degree; if your transferable GPA is 3.0 or higher, you may be eligible for admission as an upper-division transfer student without having completed an associate’s degree first. If your GPA is below 3.0 but within CCC’s requirements (for example, 2.5), you can apply as an upper-division transfer student but will have to complete 24 credits of general education courses before being able to begin coursework towards your bachelor’s degree program at CSU San Bernardino.
California State University – Fullerton
California State University Fullerton is the largest university in California and the second-largest public university within the Cal State system. Located in Fullerton, it’s also conveniently close to Los Angeles and Orange County—two areas with lots of transfer options for CSUF students.
Students who want to transfer to CSUF from another school can do so after completing an associate degree or 60 units at another California community college or a four-year college or university elsewhere in the country. Freshmen aren’t required to have a GPA above 2.0 for admission consideration; however, if you do have an above average GPA, you’ll have access to more scholarships, grants and financial aid opportunities than those who don’t meet this requirement.
