Does the University of California, Irvine have a dental school?

Postbaccalaureate Program | Medical Education | School of Medicine | University of California, Irvine

Dental schools are a bit scarcer than your traditional educational institutions. Not every state offers accredited dental programs-there are currently 66 across the United States (including our United States territories). Part of this is due to the nature of dental work. The Commission on Dental Accreditation (CDA) mandates that institutions are accredited. This ensures that future dentists are properly trained with the knowledge and skills necessary to execute health-related procedures ethically, professionally, and safely. Such accreditation offers the public assurance that they are receiving the highest standard of care.

While the University of California, Irvine, does not offer a dental school, there are many more options within the state of California. Below is a list of those institutions:

  • California North State College of Dental Medicine
  • Loma Linda University School of Dentistry
  • Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC
  • University of California, Los Angeles, School of Dentistry
  • University of California, San Francisco, School of Dentistry
  • University of the Pacific Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry
  • Western University of health Sciences College of Dental Medicine
