Choose from among 17 engineering areas of study that lead to a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree. Six of these programs are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET. You can further explore your interests with a selection from more than 30 different minor programs of study.
- Minimum six years of professional experience in a communications role with demonstrated leadership experience.
Individuals with fewer than 6 years of experience should consider the Master of Science in Strategic Communication program. - U.S. bachelor’s degree or international equivalent.
If your post-secondary credentials are from an institution outside the United States, the Office of Admissions requires you to submit all post-secondary credentials (undergraduate and graduate) to World Education Services, Inc. (WES), a third-party verification agency for a course-by-course evaluation for admission consideration. The Office of Admissions will use the credential evaluation provided by WES to determine if your undergraduate degree is the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree. - Students must be comfortable with rapid and idiomatic spoken English.
Please review the English language proficiency details under the Application Requirements section to determine if proof of English language proficiency is required. Applicants who are required to provide test scores must submit a current TOEFL iBT or IELTS score report and have a minimum score of 100 on the TOEFL iBT or receive a 7.0 or higher on the IELTS. If you have TOEFL paper scores, please contact apply@sps.columbia.edu to discuss their use. - Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and analysis.
- Ability to write clearly, concisely, and convincingly, using proper grammar.
- Cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 or better.

1 Currently serving: A member of the United States Armed Forces (Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy, Space Force) that is currently serving whether on Active Duty, Guard, or Reserve status. Members of the Guard and Reserve must be drilling members or on active duty. Service members that are in the Inactive Ready Reserve (IRR) are not considered as currently serving for purposes of the Military-Affiliated Benefit.
2 Dependents must be under the age of 25 prior to the first day of the semester to be eligible to receive the dependent benefit.
3 Installation employees, their spouses and dependents of these installations are eligible for the new Military-Affiliated Benefit.

Upon registration, all students are required to pay the entire balance of their accounts (after financial aid awards are considered) or enroll in a deferred payment plan Jump to section.
Timely payment of tuition is required to continue your attendance at the College. If unforeseen circumstances occur that preclude you from paying in a timely fashion, please contact the Enrollment Service Center office.
