Cna Salary In California Per Hour

With a constant increase in demand and a shortage of providers, the average annual salary of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in California is rising rapidly. This is especially true for CNAs who are willing to work in rural areas where there is an even greater need for their services.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the average annual salary for CNAs in California was $30,890 as of May 2016. That translates to $15.43 per hour, which is higher than the national average of $13.04 per hour reported by the BLS.

However, many CNAs earn less than this amount. For example, according to Payscale’s most recent survey of CNA salaries in California, which involved more than 2,000 respondents, the median annual salary was $25,000 with a range from $20,000-$40,000 depending on experience level and location within the state.

The same survey showed that there is also wide variation among employers when it comes to paying their employees: while some pay as little as $18 per hour while others pay up to $35 per hour or more depending on experience level and job type (such as home care vs nursing facility).
