If you have a bachelor of psychology, you’re still in luck. There are lots of career opportunities when you have a BA degree in psychology. The question is, which job is the best choice for you? I made a list to give you an overview.

Psychology is one of the most interesting careers that you can get a bachelors degree in, and it is frequently asked about when people are deciding upon their majors. But there’s no clear-cut answer to what your major could be if you want to have a career in psychology, because it takes a lot of work to get there and the exact job titles will vary greatly depending on who you are working for.

There are many careers with a psychology degree but how do you know which one to choose? What if you want to work overseas? Do you have to be a psychologist to work overseas?

With a Masters Degree in Psychology, you can pursue careers in fields that may not be directly related to your major. For example, Accounting firms are always on the lookout for individuals with high levels of empathy and communication skills. Employers such as these tend to focus on very tangible achievements while hiring, so use this opportunity to highlight your soft skills.

The possible career paths you may pursue with a major in psychology are as broad as the field itself. However, psychology bachelors degree holders tend to be most satisfied and successful when they go into business for themselves, joining a medical or health-related field, or making use of their research skills.

As a result of the great interest in psychology and its application in the real world, there are plenty of careers that relate to this field. A person with a psychology degree will find opportunities such as becoming an educational psychologist, health services psychologist, human services psychologist or organizational psychologist.

Before landing their first job, there are two options that psychology graduate students can choose. The first option is to enroll in a four-year master’s program which will provide you with the necessary certification and research skills needed to be a licensed psychologist. The second option is to pursue a doctorate degree which will take extra four years before you can even start your career.

As a Science and Technology Laboratory Technician, you’d be conducting tests on new technology in real-world situations. You may specialize in measuring mechanical strengths or experiment with different sound frequencies. Naturally, you’ll need to have a bachelor’s in both psychology and science to fill this position, since the job entails relating to both subjects.

Having a specific major in college, while there are certainly many benefits to it, doesn’t necessarily prepare you for your career. Just because you have a hard science degree doesn’t mean it will be easy to get a job as a game designer; conversely, having a degree in English doesn’t mean you won’t be able to find work if you have a degree in business. Ultimately, it all depends on what you learn in college. Even with a liberal arts degree, students can become an engineer if they master the skills needed for that position. Having lots of work experience and internships can also help you feel more confident about getting the kind of job you want after college.
