You know what? I’ve decided to move on with this. It’s just not worth the effort any more. And I’m tired of hearing about how it’s unfair for me not to get a raise, or how women “are paid less than men for the same job”, as if women didn’t already know that men are paid more than women for doing the exact same job.
And I’m tired of hearing about how there is no way I am getting a raise, because I don’t do anything that is “valuable”. Like my “sister” did with her dissertation and her “wife” did with her book.
I am no more worthless than they are. My job is not a valuable one. And it doesn’t take a PhD to tell you that.

It’s time to be realistic here. It’s time to stop trying to find ways around this and start going back to school, or work in an office somewhere, or do some kind of job where you can make money by doing something you enjoy and have fun at the same time. At least then you are in control of your life, instead of being in the hands of someone who happens to be male and has decided that he owns your body and soul.

The old guy was right; he needed to get more exercise. And golf wasn’t enough. He would have to play tennis one day soon. It didn’t matter that the younger members frequently beat him; he needed another sport. Maybe he would start running again, too. Maybe he should try jogging outside around his neighborhood each morning at seven o’clock, like he used to do as a kid growing up in San Francisco when it was still cool to stand outside in your underwear and drink from a bottle of orange soda. But then there were other reasons for getting up early besides
You can note the use of “professional tone.” If a person is outright chatting, it’s not professional.
The point is that the primary purpose of this post was to demonstrate how professional people behave online. Yes, they’ll want to discuss topics that interest them (personal or business) but they will frame their message in a way that makes it clear that they are operating at an elevated level and are not chatting with someone who might be interested in just getting to know them.
Let’s take a look at some more examples:
This post was likely written by a parent of a child in daycare or a teacher for an educational organization. It is clearly not intended for the general public (or even someone working in education). The parent/tutor/teacher would frame the message as one that is relevant to their audience and then customize the message based on their specific audience. For example:
