About The Bachelor of Management and Technology Degree
A successful career in today’s global business world will depend on the thorough knowledge and understanding of the “instruments being played” in business and management today: Students in the business technology management degree will be familiarized with these instruments in the degree basic lectures and will become more professional and specialized in their advanced courses.
The focus of the management and technology degree program during the first three semesters is on foundation courses like “Business Mathematics”, “Foundations of Business Administration” and “Business English”. Additional language courses in Spanish, French, Italian as well as “German for International Students” prepare students for their international careers. Students receive an application-oriented education which also includes special courses for developing soft skills (e.g., Presentation Techniques, Intercultural Communication).
During the fourth and fifth semester, each student is expected to perform an internship outside of Germany and to study for one semester at one of over 70 partner universities of the Faculty of Business Administration.
The sixth and seventh semesters of the programme comprise classes with an international perspective. The ability to apply theoretical knowledge to real life settings will be acquired through the course “Project Work”. Students must develop and carry out an independent project, which can consist of a business plan, an event, or an applied research project.
IB students conclude their studies with the Bachelor’s thesis. In dealing with a large scale international topics, students will be able to work independently on a scientific issue.
The Bachelor’s programme is guided and supervised by the IB office with the support of the International Office as far as the studies abroad are concerned. There will be regular meetings and discussions with the students. Tutors support students in academic matters, and our buddies assist new students in getting settled in their new environment.
Double degrees are possible with the International College of Management, Sydney (Australia); the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences, Seinäjoki (Finland); and the Providence University Taichung (Taiwan).
