BABSON MBA RANKED #1 FOR ENTREPRENEURSHIP – 18TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR – BY U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT

Babson continues to outrank major private and public universities.

Babson College’s MBA program has been ranked #1 in entrepreneurship by U.S. News & World Report for the 18th consecutive year.

Babson continues to outrank major private and public universities–the other entrepreneurship programs behind Babson in the top five are Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Sloan), Harvard University, and University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).

U.S. News & World Report also released its full-time rankings and our MBA program has improved to #52, an increase of 2 places from last year, reversing a three-year decline. This gain reflects improvement in recruiter opinion and solid gains in our employment statistics. This is encouraging marketplace feedback and points to additional upside as Babson’s new Center for
Career Development operation in the graduate school continues to gain positive traction among both recruiters and students.

Finally, in the part-time rankings, our Evening MBA program is ranked #21, down one place from 2010. We are the highest ranked part-time program in Boston–still tied with Boston College and ranked ahead of BU (#32), Bentley (#36), and Northeastern (#73). In addition, based on the published 2010 part-time enrollment data, of the 5 largest part-time programs in the Boston market (Babson, BC, BU, Northeastern, and Bentley), we have the largest program, with a 31% market share among the 5 programs, leading BU by 8 share points (23%).

As a brief reminder, the U.S. News and World Report full-time survey methodology is as follows:

• Reputation, as defined by both academic (Deans and MBA Program Directors) and corporate recruiter perspectives, accounts for 40% of the rankings score
• Employment success (starting salary, % employed at graduation, and % employed 3 months after graduation) accounts for 35% of the ranking
• Admissions criteria (selectivity, GPA, and GMAT) represent the final 25% of the ranking.

“This positive ranking news is a result of the Babson community’s belief in our mission and relentless hard work–faculty known for their exceptional teaching and a staff who does a great job working with our students,” said Len Schlesinger, President. “With today’s top entrepreneurship ranking, we now have two consecutive years of #1 placements among all major ranking publications (U.S. News & World Report, Princeton Review, and the Financial Times), thus reinforcing our belief that we are producing the world’s best entrepreneurial leaders–and, with our new strategy, we will continue to advance our global reputation for outstanding graduate education,” said Raghu Tadepalli, Dean of the Graduate School.
