The average salary for a middle school teacher is $52,000. That’s about $4,300 more than the average elementary school teacher, who makes on average $47,500 per year.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that in 2015 the median annual salary for all elementary and middle school teachers was $55,400. The lowest-paid 10 percent made less than $39,910 annually while the highest-paid 10 percent earned over $86,760 per year.
