Creating credentialed veterinary techicians one assistant at a time

Improve careers, practices, and animal health

Earning your veterinary technician associate’s degree can seem far out of reach when you are currently working full time in practice. AAHA is here to help make this easier with the Distance Education Veterinary Technology Program (DEVTP), which was created in partnership with Dallas College more than 20 years ago to make the process of becoming a credentialed veterinary technician more convenient. This program is designed for students working in practice so you can implement what you learn right away. Best off all, your classes are scheduled around your schedule!

This program is approved by the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities. Upon graduation, DEVTP students are qualified to take the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) to become a credentialed veterinary technician.

Spring enrollment opens November 11! Classes begin January 18.
