The average salary for an undergraduate is surprisingly high because of the potential employment in big cities, but even so it can be hard to earn money while studying. The first thing that needs to be done while making a living as an undergraduate is to choose the right field of study. Some people say that accounting and banking are one of the best fields, while others say that finding a job in media or advertising can be a lot easier. If a good job is not secured right away, it might help to take part-time jobs during college that require very few hours but still provide some additional cash flow.

The data above shows that computer science majors make a lot of money as graduates. Although there are other factors that you may want to take into consideration when deciding to major in such a complicated field, the salary factor does play a large role in determining whether or not your future job will be good for you or not. The salary data was taken from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, and the national average annual salary was calculated with data from 2010.

In line with our findings, marketing directors had the highest salary of all (some even earning over $200,000). The lowest paying positions were professors and only two out of the ten listed positions were doctors. Overall, we found that STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) fields are the most well paying.

This does not include the annual stipend, which is around $5,000 per year.
